As of September 2026, the operator line in the 1win.ng footer reads:

The website is operated, and the services are provided by BID Entertainment Limited, acting under the National Sports Betting Permit No. 00000045, granted by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission; and licensed under the License No. OYSGB/CASB/2592001 by the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board

The 1win.ng homepage FAQ answers the legality question with "Yes", while the footer backs a narrower statement: one federal permit and one state licence, from Oyo.

About 1win.ng: the site and the 1win company behind it

1win.ng is a gambling website set up for Nigeria: a sportsbook with live, prematch and esports betting, plus a casino with live games, fast games, 1win Games titles and poker. Accounts are in naira only, and the site opens only from inside Nigeria.

The company behind a Nigerian account is BID Entertainment Limited, which the 1win.ng rules describe as a Nigerian company incorporated under the laws of Nigeria and licensed to provide the services. Use that name in any written complaint.

Where is 1win located? Headquarters and founder

This guide cannot confirm a 1win headquarters or founder. The 1win.ng rules and a payment widget on the site give different company addresses, so this page prints neither. Account questions go to the channels in 1win customer care contacts: support@1win.ng, live chat and the Telegram bot.

NLRC permit or state licence: what the 2024 ruling changed

On 22 November 2024 the Supreme Court, in a unanimous seven-justice judgment (Attorney General of Lagos State & Ors v. Attorney General of the Federation & Ors), nullified the National Lottery Act 2005 for every state except the Federal Capital Territory. Operators now need state licences to work outside the FCT.

The NLRC permit on the footer therefore does not settle the question by itself. FSGRN, the federation of state regulators, fully waived 2025 licence fees for operators moving over from NLRC licences.

The Central Gaming Bill 2025 cleared both chambers of the National Assembly on 2 December 2025. On 19 December 2025 President Tinubu said he would not sign it, calling lottery a residual matter for the states.

The Oyo State licence behind 1win.ng

Oyo is one of the ten states that had gaming laws before the 2005 federal Act, and its board is the regulator named on 1win.ng.

A 12-month licence has to be renewed, so a footer number proves less than a current register entry. The OYSGB website returned an error on 16 September 2026, so OYSGB/CASB/2592001 could not be matched to a register; ask the board at Agodi if you need confirmation. The board does act: on 9 August 2022 it sealed three unlicensed gaming centres in Ibadan (see casinos in Ibadan and Oyo State).

Is 1win licensed in Nigeria outside Oyo State?

Outside Oyo, compare the footer with each regulator's public list. Status as of September 2026:

FSGRN had 22 member states in June 2025, Lagos and Oyo among them, and counted 24 by September 2026. Its Universal Reciprocity Certificate covers online betting and casino across member states, but the 1win.ng footer names none. The betting sites comparison sets other brands against the same registers.

Living in Lagos: what the LSLGA law says

Lagos law reaches remote operators and players, so the missing register entry matters. The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority Law 2021 and its regulations say:

• Section 33(3): without a licence nobody may operate, accept wagers or advertise gaming in the state.
• Section 86(1) and (2): offering wagers "whether remotely or otherwise in the State" without a licence carries up to 3 years' imprisonment, a fine, or both.
• Section 86(3): anyone who participates in, facilitates or promotes unauthorised gaming faces a fine of up to ₦5,000,000 or up to 3 years in custody.
• Remote Gaming Regulations, reg. 5: remote operators must register with LSLGA at least 31 days before taking Lagos customers.
• The same regulations define a Lagos customer as a Lagos resident; where details conflict, a NIN, bank statement or driving licence with a Lagos address makes you one.

LSLGA is enforcing these rules. On 25 July 2026 it told all unlicensed betting, casino and lottery operators in Lagos to stop operating, and in a declaration reported on 10 September 2026 LSLGA and FSGRN named Stake illegal in Lagos and 24 FSGRN states, with enforcement reaching payment companies and influencers. If your NIN or bank records show a Lagos address, weigh these rules before you register. Lagos's SafePlay self-exclusion tool applies only on LSLGA-licensed platforms, and 1win is not in that register.

How to check the 1win license yourself

1. Open 1win.ng from inside NigeriaFrom abroad the site shows a "Regional restrictions" page. Open 1win.ng on a Nigerian connection and scroll to the footer.
2. Match the operator and both numbersLook for BID Entertainment Limited, Permit No. 00000045 and License No. OYSGB/CASB/2592001. If another website quotes different numbers, go by what the 1win.ng footer displays.
3. Search the Lagos register if you live in LagosThe LSLGA list of licensed operators gives each brand, its company and the dates of its entry.
4. Check the FCT list if you live in AbujaThe FCT approved operators list separates sports betting, casino and lottery licensees.
5. Ask OYSGB whether the Oyo licence is currentContact or visit the board at the Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, and quote the full licence number.

Some footer items look like credentials but are not gaming licences: the NDPC seal links to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, and GamCare and GambleAware are not Nigerian gaming regulators. App store listings are no check either. 1win.ng links none, and its only app download is the Android APK described in the app guide.

Before you sign up: a state-by-state checklist

So is 1win legal for you? The answer turns on where you live:

• Oyo State: the footer shows a licence number from your own state board. Confirm with OYSGB that it exists and is current, then open an account with a +234 number.
• Lagos State: 1win is not in the LSLGA register, and section 86(3) reaches anyone who participates in unauthorised gaming. Read the Lagos section above before you register.
• Abuja (FCT): 1win is not on the FCT Lottery Regulation Office list; the NLRC permit is the only federal credential shown.
• Another state: find out whether your state has its own board or belongs to FSGRN, and ask whether it recognises the Oyo licence.
