How to play blackjack: one hand from deal to payout
Cards 2 to 10 count at face value. Jacks, queens and kings count 10, and an ace counts 1 or 11, whichever suits the hand. A hand with an ace counted as 11 is soft; any other hand is hard. An ace plus a 10-value card as your first two cards is a blackjack, the strongest hand at the table.
- Place your stake while betting is openChips go on your betting spot. Side bets, where the table offers them, have spots of their own.
- Read your two cards and the dealer's upcardThe dealer's face-up card is all you see of the dealer's hand before you act.
- Hit, stand, double or splitTake cards until you are happy with the total. Go over 21 and the hand busts: the stake is lost at once, even if the dealer busts later.
- Let the dealer finishThe dealer makes no choices and draws by the fixed rule in the game's rules. If the dealer busts, every hand still in play is paid.
- Settle the roundA higher total than the dealer's pays even money, and a blackjack pays the higher ratio shown in the paytable. An equal total is a push, so your stake comes back.
Blackjack rules for hit, stand, double and split
Standard moves. The rules screen says which ones a table allows.

Four rules to read before the first hand
How much a blackjack pays, whether the dealer stands on soft 17, when you may double or split, and whether surrender exists. Tables with similar names can differ on all four, and each difference changes what a hand costs you.
Live blackjack or RNG: which table to open
A live table deals real cards on video; an RNG game deals by software. The 99.62% and 99.60% figures belong to two Pragmatic Play software games, so treat them as a benchmark, not as the return of a live table. The live casino guide covers the other tables in the Live Games section.

Side bets: Any Pair, 21+3, Hot 3 and Bust It
Evolution lists these four side bets for its Infinite Blackjack, plus a Six Card Charlie rule for a six-card hand that has not gone over 21. The 1win.ng lobby names Infinite Bet Stacker Blackjack, a different Evolution title, so check its help screen for the side bets it carries.
- Any Pair pays when your first two cards form a pair.
- 21+3 reads your two cards plus the dealer's upcard as a three-card poker hand.
- Hot 3 pays on the total of those same three cards.
- Bust It pays when the dealer goes over 21.
Odds in naira: RTP and house edge side by side
Pragmatic Play's Multihand Blackjack page lists 99.62% RTP with 8 decks and up to 4 hands, and its American Blackjack lists 99.60%, a house edge of 0.38% and 0.40%. On ₦100,000 of total stakes, 99.62% means a theoretical return of ₦99,620, averaged over a very large number of hands. It is not a forecast for one evening.

Table habits that keep the cost down
- A soft hand cannot bust on the next card, because the ace can drop to 1.
- Insurance and side bets are extra bets with their own odds, not protection for your hand.
- Set a naira budget and a stake per hand before you sit down. Raising the stake after a loss does not change the next hand's odds.
- Count hands, not minutes. Playing 4 hands at once, as Multihand Blackjack allows, puts 4 stakes on every round.
- Apps and Telegram channels selling card signals cannot see the next card.
