How to play baccarat: one round step by step

1. Place chips on Player, Banker or TieAt a live table everyone bets in the same countdown; when it ends, the hand is dealt.

Because the tens digit drops, no hand can go bust and the best total is 9. That is the main difference from blackjack on 1win, where your hit and stand choices shape the hand.

Banker, Player or Tie: what each bet costs in naira

House edge is the share of all stakes a game keeps on average over a very large number of hands. Wizard of Odds calculates it for the 8-deck game:

Banker costs less because its hand acts after Player under the drawing rules, which puts it ahead slightly more often. Classic tables offset that with a commission on Banker payouts, and Banker is still the cheapest of the three bets.

Among casino games, baccarat's Banker and Player bets compare well on cost: single-zero roulette keeps 2.70% of every stake, and the Gates of Olympus slot, listed at 96.50% RTP, leaves 3.50%. Can a pattern or betting system beat the table?

No. Doubling after a loss, following a run of Banker results or switching sides after a Tie changes the size and order of your stakes, not the edge on each hand. Doubling also climbs fast: from a ₦1,000 opening stake, six losses in a row add up to ₦63,000, and the seventh bet needs ₦64,000, which can be above the table maximum.
