Land-based casino in Nigeria: a city-by-city guide

Nearest casino to you in each city

Casino tables are listed in two cities: in Lagos on Victoria Island, in Ikoyi and around Ikeja, and in central Abuja. Elsewhere, a "casino near me" search on Google Maps turns up Hot Fun cafes, hotels with "Casino" in the name, betting shops or gaming offices.

Lagos casinos on the register and on the map

On 16 September 2026 the LSLGA list of licensed operators showed 6 Category A (Hotel) casino entries, 11 Category B (Standalone) entries, 7 gaming machine operators and 1 poker licence. Five licensed names, among them Royal Mermaid Casino and Glory Casino, do not show up on Google Maps.

9Carat on Sir Samuel Manuwa Street holds Category B until August 2027 and lists 8 pm to 4 am on Maps. Golden Eko, Cobra, De Tower, The Green Lion and Golden Sun have listings with unclear status. The Lagos casinos page gives their addresses, hours and licence dates, and the Federal Palace casino guide covers Elucid Poker House, the poker room inside that hotel.

Abuja casinos inside Nicon Luxury and Transcorp Hilton

Jacaranda Casino Abuja is at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Plot 903 Tafawa Balewa Way, and showed as open on Google Maps on 16 September 2026. It lists roulette, blackjack, baccarat, several poker games and bingo, though its own pages give the closing time as both 2 AM and 3 AM. Domo Casino is inside Transcorp Hilton in Maitama, with Maps hours of 12 pm to 2:30 am daily.

Triple Seven Casino in Mabushi, Royal Palace Casino in Wuse 2 and Triple Seven Macau in Wuse have Maps listings, but their status is unclear. The FCT Lottery Regulation Office licenses casinos in the capital, so ask about the licence when you call. The Abuja casinos page gives hours and phone numbers for all five.

Is there a casino in Ibadan, Port Harcourt or Owerri?

Not in Ibadan, going by Google Maps. Oyo State licenses casinos, yet a Maps search in Ibadan on 16 September 2026 returned no place in the Casino category, only a gambling house on Unity Avenue. Premier Hotel on Mokola Hill had its first phase commissioned in June 2026 after a renovation, and reports on the reopening do not mention a casino. The Ibadan and Oyo page explains how OYSGB licenses a venue.

Port Harcourt has more on the map. Hot Fun Cafe at Casablanca carries the Casino category, and MIDAS SLOT on Woji Road is listed open 24 hours, as is Hot Fun Cafe at Concorde Hotel in Owerri. Aristohouse Hotel & Casino in Port Harcourt and Dreamland Hotel & Casino in Owerri are listed as hotels, so ask about gaming before you book a room. Calabar, Uyo and Enugu show betting shops and gaming offices only.

Hotel and casino under one roof

For a casino with hotel rooms in the same building, use the pairs below. Each comes from a venue page, the hotel's own site or Google Maps, not from a hotel name alone. Zeus Paradise Hotel in Mabushi has a Triple Seven Casino listing, but the hotel's website does not mention it.

9Jackpot and Hot Fun slot halls in Lagos

9Jackpot and Hot Fun slot halls run under a gaming machine licence, not a casino licence. 9Jackpot is a Nigerian brand of Sax Innovative Network Limited, a Promatic subsidiary registered under the trade name Hot Fun until 30 June 2027. Promatic lists 15 Hot Fun locations in Lagos, from Ikeja GRA and Opebi to Apapa and Festac, all 18+. At the 9Jackpot Hi Lounge on Muri Okunola Street, 17 machines take plays from ₦10 to ₦5,000.

Casino law in Nigeria: who licenses what

Outside the FCT, licensing a casino in Nigeria is a state matter. On 22 November 2024 the Supreme Court nullified the National Lottery Act 2005 for every state except the FCT, so operators elsewhere need state licences.

In Lagos the licence must be on display, with the word "Casino" on the front of the building. Oyo acts on its rules: its board shut six Ibadan gaming centres over underage betting on 18 December 2020 and sealed three unlicensed ones at Bodija, Idi-Ape and Dugbe on 9 August 2022.

Visiting a casino or playing online on 1win.ng

A casino night runs on the venue's clock: Jacaranda VI opens at 2 PM and 9Carat at 8 pm. Online there is no drive across town, and Crazy Time, an Evolution live show in the 1win.ng lobby, runs 24/7. Either way the house keeps an edge: 2.70% on single-zero roulette and 5.26% on most double-zero bets, as the RTP and house edge guide explains.

Live tables are where the two overlap. The 1win live casino has roulette, blackjack and baccarat sections, and 1win Poker runs daily tournaments, freerolls and cash games. The licence page sets out the NLRC permit and Oyo State licence held by BID Entertainment Limited, the operator named in the 1win.ng footer. If you would rather play from home, the sign-up form on 1win.ng asks for a +234 number and a password.

What to check before you visit a Nigerian casino

To pick the best casino in Nigeria for one evening, confirm these points by phone or on the venue's own page before you leave home.

• Call on the day. Federal Palace, Jacaranda Lagos and Jacaranda Abuja each publish conflicting hours.
• In Lagos, look for the displayed licence and ask for a copy of the game rules, which the casino must give you free.
• Ask which currency the machines use; Federal Palace lists its slot denominations in US dollars.
• Decide on a spending limit at home. Gaming is for adults aged 18 and over.
• To stop playing online, close your 1win.ng account with the self-exclusion request form in account settings or through support; the responsible play page has more.
